Why Teach?
As a kid I remember being in my room with my stuffed animals and a cardboard box that I taped white paper on, to make it into a whiteboard. With that board, I would play ""teacher" and teach them addition, subtraction, basically stuff that I knew from school at the time. I remember as I was playing this game, I was trying to play as my teacher that I had at the time which was Ms. Sphone (Can't quite remember the spelling, but it's pronounced 'spone'). As time went on, around late middle school, early high school I began to babysit for many of my mom's friends and grew a passion for kids because of how much fun I would have babysitting. As I got older I had a Theatre teacher in high school who inspired me to actually apply for a school for education, because she was so passionate with her students and always came to class with energy that always made you excited to be there, I was able to take that and spread it to my kiddos at the after school program I work at now, and they love it and are always happy to be there. I didn't decide on a grade to teach until my freshman year of college when I shadowed a elementary classroom for my Seminar class, and began to have so much fun working with the littles. So my reason to teach is because, I enjoy working with kids so much, and I want to make as big of an impact on my students as the teachers I've had, have made on my life.
As a future educator I hope to teach anywhere between Kinder and second grade. I want to teach that age range because, it's where I have had the most experience and my favorite age range because of how much energy and excitement they have to learn new things. I see it a lot on many of the tiktok teachers I follow. My favorite tiktok teachers from teachertok currently are, @lovemsslater, @myclassroomdiaries <followed her since she was student teaching now she's a first year teacher:)>, @kinder.and.kindness, @teachinglittleminds, @shybeeeee, @meetmissalina, @carinab, and @iamsofiabella. Watching them on tiktok makes me more and more excited to have my own classroom one day and share the love and passion they have for each of their littles :)
