What is the Purpose of School?

To me I feel like school is meant to teach you the things, you wouldn't learn if you were out of school. According to the "Education in Society" Crash course, they define education as the institution through which society provides it's members with all kinds of important knowledge. Students go to school to gain the knowledge they need in order to succeed in life outside of school, they learn things like how to calculate totals, count money, read, and fun facts like the history of building they will visit. Without an education it would be a lot harder to go through the world, because you wouldn't have the most important skill to know, when it comes to making decisions, which is critical thinking.
Marginalized students, are students who who come from poverty, abusive households, etc. Most of these students may have a hard time in school, because of what they have going on at home, so it's really helpful when they have a good support system at their schools to help them through it. Some good resources would be providing extra supplies, providing a counselor they can talk to if they want, many other things that could be found with research. I know in the future that I would want to be a teacher who provides that safe and welcoming environment for my future students, the article below gives some really great tips on how teachers can help out. :)
